The First Time Claimer

Class droppers can really light up a tote board!. We have seen it time and time again over the years.

Playing horses dropping in class to a claiming race for the first time can be VERY profitable plays in this game. It all depends on the nature and setting of the class drop.

Look for horses on our Diamond Reports that have the

icon. If only one horse in a race has this icon consider him a major player, especially if he is offered at generous odds.

Here are some helpful tips to use with the FTC angle:

The FTC horse must have been running on the same track (or circuit) as today or a circuit of equal or higher class.
His near post time odds must be greater than Our True Odds. If he is a 50% overlay to our true odds it is a real nice play.
It is a big plus if he has raced within the past 21 days and/or has workout points of 90 or higher (the workout points can also be found on the Diamond Reports.
If today's rider is one of the best at the circuit it is a big plus factor.
If the horse has another big money icon (trainer angle, overlay trainer, final time, par, etc) it is another big plus.

This angle shows long term profit at most tracks. Watch for the lone at big odds in any type of race!
