True Odds Overlays in Maiden Claiming Races
Maiden claiming races with no more than 2 first timers. Those of you that have
read our other articles know the significance of this type of race. We have
written about the superb betting opportunities in this type of race however we never gave it a whole
article. We feel the play is so strong and proven that the time has come. As you know, the top 4 picks on the
RacingPicks.Com Platinum report are your source for overlays in all races. We also know that finding
and betting on solid overlays is the only way to make long term profit in this game, period.
The race (see full analysis below) is the 3rd race at the
Fairgrounds for December 26, 2002. Compare the near post time odds with our true odds below. You
will see #5 is over bet at 7-5 as we gave him a 3-1 odds rating. You will also see the remaining 3 horses are
being offered at fair and/or overlay
odds. Those 3 took the money and those of you concentrating on overlays and fair odds value did
very well in this race. Bottom line: These maiden claiming races (MCl) with no more than
2 first time starters make fantastic betting opportunities using our Platinum report. For
future use let's call these races MCl/n2 which stands for Maiden Claiming race/no more than
2 first timers.
